Seamus Simpson

Programme Leader for the MRes (Journalism)

Seamus Simpson is Professor of Media Policy at the School of Media, Music and Performance. Seamus teaches ‘Journalism and Media Convergence’ and ‘European and Global Media Policy’. His research in media policy has been published widely in leading scholarly journals and he is author of the books Globalisation, Convergence, and European Telecommunications Regulation (with Peter Humphreys, University of Manchester) and The New Electronic Marketplace: European Governance Strategies in a Globalising Economy (2007, Edward Elgar) (with George Christou, University of Warwick). Seamus is currently preparing two further volumes: The EU in Global Electronic Communications (Routledge 2014, forthcoming) and Governance, Regulation and the Media (Edward Elgar 2014, forthcoming).
