3 good reasons to study Interpreting and Translating at Salford:
- Highly experienced academics and professional staff
- Excellent graduate employment opportunities
- Emphasis on practical interpreting skills.
The MA course at Salford taught me a lot about how to approach a translation task and gave me plenty of practice and feedback, which meant that I was confident enough to start working as a full-time translator as soon as I finished the course.
Ros Mendy (née Woolner), MAThis course aims to develop the techniques required for translation and interpreting in an increasingly competitive and computer-oriented professional environment, and to help you to reflect on your own practice.
It provides high-level interpreting and translating skills and will feature keynote lectures on specialised translation and business practice, mock conferences and topics and documents relating to fields covered in professional translation, such as economics, transport, telecommunications, medicine and international organisations.
You will work into and out of English with one language (Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, French, German, Spanish) or from two languages (Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, French, German, Spanish) into English.
