This is a pre-Masters course which is designed to enhance your skills and knowledge, bringing them up to the standard required to study a full Masters degree at Salford Business School.
Course Structure
The course is taught over a single semester (12 weeks). There are three starting points throughout the year (September, January and June). If you start the course in September, you will be able to join the MSc courses that start in January. If you take the course in January or June, you will be able to join the MSc courses that start in September of that year.
You will take three core modules of 20 credits each:
International Business and Management
This module will introduce you to the international nature of business in the modern day world, focusing on how practices differ around the world. Specific areas covered include financial institutions, strategic financial issues, international marketing, e-marketing, social and search engine marketing, international logistics, project management, fundamentals of strategic management and strategic tools and models.

Operational Sustainability
This module will increase your awareness of the different topic areas of business and management and how they are integrated in organisations for operational management. You will gain an appreciation of the importance of managing organisations on both a day-to-day basis and also over longer periods of time, and be able to distinguish the similarities and differences. The module will also introduce concepts of sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

Developing Organisational Capacity
This module focuses on team working, motivation, leadership, issues in people management and control as well as international aspects of human resource management. You will acquire IT skills for business and will study academic writing and plagiarism together with the use of academic literature in an international context. Basic systems theory will also be covered.
