Alumni Profile
Emily Feltham, BA (Hons) Finance and Accounting with International Foundation Year
"I found out about the courses at the University of Salford when I went to a schools’ exhibition in Rotterdam. I knew that I wanted to go down the accounting route and after reading about the Finance and Accounting degree at Salford, it was everything I wanted.
However, in order to bring my foreign qualifications to the level required to proceed on to the degree course, I had to complete an International Foundation Year at Salford. This was an amazing year where I made friends from all over the world. I even went to stay in Hong Kong with some of the friends I made.
On successful completion of this Foundation Year I started my Finance and Accounting degree. At first it was very daunting because of the change in class size and the material that had to be studied. But after a few weeks I settled in to it and I found the mix of the modules very good.
I graduated with a 2:1 classification. I could not have done this without the amazing support of all the University lecturers and support staff. Since leaving the University I worked at an accountancy practice in Manchester city centre where I completed the ACCA exams and gained the three years’ practical experience required to become a member of the ACCA. I then changed jobs to a top accountancy firm where I am working as a tax advisor and studying for my CTA exams."
