International Foundation Year

This is a full-time two semester course with at least 24 hours of lessons a week plus homework.
During the International Foundation Year you will complete classes in English and Study Skills as well as subjects relating to your chosen degree course.
Course Structure
English and Study Skills
English and Study Skills classes help you develop the skills you need to make a success of your chosen degree. Even if you have some previous knowledge of English you will need to know how to write academic English, undertake projects in English, understand lectures and take notes, give presentations and carry out academic research. All English language teaching is accredited by the British Council.
In addition to English and Study Skills you will study (usually) two additional subjects, which will depend on the degree you eventually wish to study. Below is the range of undergraduate degrees available with the International Foundation Year.

BA Translation and Interpreting - Language choices:
For the Higher Entry Courses you will usually be required to score 60% instead of the normal 40% in some or all of your modules. If you do not score 60% on your first attempt, but do pass the module with 40%, you will be offered a place on a default degree course. Full details of the score you need to achieve and the modules affected will be on your offer letter.
