This course is designed to enable recent graduates of IT, computer science and information systems to develop their management career paths, and for graduates of other disciplines to apply systems thinking and the management and application of information technology to their existing subject knowledge.

Alumni Profile

Helen Ferris, a graduate of MSc Managing Information Technology, is currently an application development manager at Citi, having previously been IT and security project manager at BT Global Services. 

Richard Emmett is a manager within Accenture’s technology workforce. He has previously project-managed business process/workflow implementations for a major commercial insurer and for a government agency. After graduating from the part-time MSc Managing Information Technology course, Richard moved from systems analysis/programming to IT consultancy.

Abdullah Al-Jufaili is the general manager of Sharakah, a company incorporated in 1998 by Royal Decree 76/98 to support the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Sultanate of Oman, having previously been the deputy general manager at Intilaaqah, and the director of The Knowledge Mine, Knowledge Oasis Muscat.

Module leaders regularly invite external speakers into the classroom. These guest lecturers allow you to mix with professionals from industry, make connections, set up placements and conduct research.
