Alumni Profile
Dawn Lambert, MSc Human Resource Management now Head of HR, Mears Group PLC
"I chose the University of Salford due to the positive reputation of the course. Since graduating I have remained with the Mears Group Plc, which has grown from 300 to 2,500 staff. I am now head of Human Resources and have a voice on the Board. In 2005 I was accepted as a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD. This award helped accelerate my career as achieving the MSc was a condition of my promotion to Human Resource Manager and my promotion to Head of Human Resources came shortly after receiving fellowship status."
Industry Links
Students are encouraged to attend CIPD Manchester Branch events and interact with other members. Students are also encouraged to join meetings of Manchester Industrial Relations Society. Guest lecturers are used to support seminars and help focus activities as appropriate.

Cheshire Police: “Both students are actively implementing the learning from their CIPD course. In the past year they have used their knowledge to train, guide and advise our staff in areas such as Leadership, Continuous Professional Development and Performance Management. They use theory to inform our programme and play a big part in the success of Career Management within the organisation.”
Exxon Mobil: “Since two members of staff have started their PgDip Human Resource Management in September, I have noticed a marked improvement in both of them.”
