This course is designed for graduates with a background in business or business related studies, who wish to specialise in HRM with a view to pursuing a career as an HRM practitioner either as a functional specialist or in other areas of management which involves significant people management responsibilities. On completion you will have developed as a manager of people by learning specialist knowledge and the application of theory and practice in the main specialist areas which comprise HRM.
You will be equipped with the knowledge and specialist skills to effectively select, motivate, manage and reward employees to maximise their potential and the potential of their respective organisations. You will also become a reflective practitioner and enhance your learning and development capabilities.
Strategic International Business Management
This modules provides you with a thorough grounding in major issues and perspectives in developing strategy. Leadership and management theory and practice is debated and demonstrated with a view to attain positive organisational outcomes.

Resourcing, Learning and Talent Management
Learn to reflect critically on theory and practice from an ethical and professional standpoint, and gain opportunities for applied learning and continuous professional development. You will focus on the key practices within people resourcing and sourcing talent which are common to all organisations, including recruitment, selection and induction, development and evaluation of resourcing, long and short term succession planning and retention and turnover strategies.

Employment Relations and Law
This module provides a comprehensive understanding of employment relations and employment law, analysing perspectives from a theoretical and behavioural competency. You will have opportunities to apply the activities, knowledge and behavioural competencies required for managing employment relations practices in union and non-union, small, large, public, private, charitable and indigenous and multinational organisations.

Business Innovation Project
Choose one from:
- Six Month Work Placement: an integrated period of work-based learning in a suitable organisation, as agreed by Salford Business School
- Assessed Internship: a one-to-three month monitored work or service/volunteer experience agreed by Salford Business School, in which you will have specified learning goals and will need to actively reflect on what is being learned throughout the experience
- Live Project: work as part of a team on a project provided by a UK or international business organisation. The allocation of teams and responsibilities will be dependent on the type of organisation
- Dissertation: a conventional dissertation of 12,000 to 15,000 words, consisting of research question, aims and objectives, rationale for undertaking the study, literature review, research methodology, analysis of findings, conclusions and recommendations
