The Graduate Diploma in Health will provide you with a graduate level qualification in Health and prepare you for on-going postgraduate study.
You will improve your knowledge and skills in discipline-specific English language and take subject modules relevant to your area of professional practice.
This course can only be studied full time. It comprises of two 12-week semesters. Three compulsory modules are studied in each semester.
Semester one
In semester one the focus is on your development and you will study three modules consecutively.
English Language for Health
You will raise your language level for entrance on to postgraduate study. You will develop your listening and reading comprehension skills by using texts on health related topics, and will improve your oral skills in a variety of interactional groupings, both for seminars and presentations. You will also develop your writing skills appropriate to health studies.

Integrated Study Skills for Health
You will be introduced to the culture of teaching and learning in the UK , and will develop and learn to apply a range of study skills and teaching and learning strategies suitable for degree level study.

Personal and Professional Development for Health
You will demonstrate past, present and future learning and the links this has to your career development through the use of personal development plans. Your continuing personal, professional and academic development will be advanced by the identification of learning needs, development of actions and the compiling of evidence supported by a reflective commentary to demonstrate progress towards achieving them.

Semester Two
Semester two focuses on concepts related to health and your preparation for postgraduate study.
Introduction to Concepts of Health
You will explore different attitudes of health within a global context. This will include the physical, mental, social and spiritual aspects of health; personal, professional and cultural values and beliefs in relation to health; and inequalities of and ethical frameworks of health.

You will be introduced to theories and concepts of communication and relationships related to health, and through practical exercises you will develop communication skills appropriate to you in a professional and personal context

Progressing your Personal and Professional Development - Preparation for Masters Level Study
You will use a range of reflective frameworks to evaluate your progress and devise actions to address future personal, professional and academic development needs.
