DLHE 2010Environmental Management explores both the impact of human activities on the environment and responses to such impacts made by society.
It also looks at the mechanisms that are used by organisations, local and national governments, and the European Union to respond to impacts made by human activities on the environment. Governments and the International Organisation for Standardisation set frameworks and then individual organisations have to determine strategies in order to comply with legislative controls and codes of practice.
Strong emphasis is placed on the legal, political, and economic structures and systems that are used by governmental and individual organisations to combat and reduce a wide range of environmental problems.
