Alumni Profile

The University provided excellent facilities and services. The library has thousands of books, journals and science papers in electronic versions and hard copy which it is easy to access anytime from University or from home. The leisure centre with swimming pool and other facilities provide wonderful services for the time out activities.
The most impressive part of the University for me was the relationship between lecturers and students. We received excellent instruction from our lecturers, and a variety of teaching methods were used, so it was always interesting; we also received constructive guidance, instruction and feedback during our dissertation research project. For my dissertation I had the opportunity to work with Groundwork Oldham and Rochdale on an energy benchmarking project; this provided an opportunity to develop experience of real-world research and helped to enhance my practical and project management skills.
One year of study at the University of Salford has brought significant changes in my career. I have received a number of work offers from different organisations working in climate change research or the mining industry. Currently, I am working for Archipelago Resources Ltd in Vietnam as a Geologist and Environmental Officer. With my ambition, experience and the knowledge gained from the course in our University, I believe that I will achieve even more in my future career.
