Accreditation for Prior Experiential Learning (APEL)

We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully.

The Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process could help you to make your work and life experience count. The APL process can be used for entry onto courses or to give you exemptions from parts of your course.

Two forms of APL may be used for entry: the Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning (APCL) or the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).

English Language Requirements

International applicants will be required to show a proficiency in English. An IELTS score of 6.5 (with no element below 5.5) as proof of this.

Suitable For

You will need a strong interest in children's programming and a keen desire to develop ideas and content. An understanding of the media industry and landscape is essential. Additional industry experience is extremely useful but not essential, but a desire to create content and be able to communicate and work well in teams is an essential.

Applicant profile

You will have a keen sense of direction and creativity and a determination to make things happen. Useful skills are self shooters (camera) and editing but these are not essential, as we will offer you key skills sessions to get up to speed with them. You will have an interview and will be asked to come with an idea or proposal for creative content that you may wish to develop. You will be asked to discuss this idea at your interview. If you have any work that you have produced it is beneficial to leave a copy with the interviewer on the day of your interview.
