Alumni Profile

Rebecca Scholes foundation year, 2006

Deciding on which University was not so easy - I had interviews and offers, but my decision was made after speaking to friends who had, or were currently studying at the University of Salford. This inside access meant that I had spent time at the lively campus, and seen the large amount of access students have to the support and knowledge that lecturers have to offer.

I was at the University of Salford for five years in total, as I went on to do my three year degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences after completing the Foundation Year in Biology, and took a year out on placement in industry as well. Within a month of graduating I had used the scientific knowledge and professional experience I gained at the University of Salford to get a permanent position in an international molecular diagnostics company – my dream job!
