The MA Art and Design: Museum and Heritage Interpretation course operates within the context of contemporary art and design practice and creative engagement as subject areas. This course encourages exploration and debate of museum, heritage and cultural contexts issues together with a thorough understanding of current practice in design and interpretation in a range of museum and heritage contexts. Emphasis is placed on current and developing practices in curatorship, collections management as well as an understanding of audiences, social structures and expectations, the nature of the venue (both tangible and virtual), and the global growth of the industry. The principles and practice of museum and heritage management and a study of visitor research methods inform the portfolio giving you a distinct and appropriate range of transferable skills.
