MA/PgDip Art and Design: Contemporary Fine Art

  • Part-time study available
  • International students can apply
  • Work placement opportunity

Students have open access to the postgraduate base room in the Centenary building where they are able to study, access the internet and relax. There is also an archive of documents related to the heritage courses to which students have access.

Students are also encouraged to use the facilities and resources at MediaCity, for project- based activities and exhibition opportunities.

The course is resourced by studio facilities, including internet access, and a range of demonstrator staffed workshops including digital and ‘wet’ photography, fibre/textiles and print. Demonstrators are also active, creative practitioners. A range of project spaces supports experimental activity outside of studio contexts.

The range of disciplines and areas of research open to students of fine art is extremely broad, and resources from any part of the School of Art and Design and/or the University can be negotiated as relevant e.g. anechoic chamber in acoustics.

As practitioners, staff have links with external agencies for networking and external providers of resources. Staff can broker access or pathways to most resources in response to the demands of your practice.
