GCSE 5 grade C, including Mathematics, English Language and Science
UCAS tariff points 240-280 points
GCE A level Subjects must include one from Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Human Biology, PE, Sport Studies, Psychology
GCE A level double award 240-280 points in an appropriate subject. To include; Human Biology, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, PE, Biology, Psychology
BTEC National Diploma DMM in Sport Science, Sports Studies or a related subject
Scottish Highers 240-280 points must be in Sports Science or a related subject and include Maths and Science
Irish Leaving Certificate 240-280 points must be in Sports Science or a related subject and to include Maths, English, Science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)
International Baccalaureate 29 points

Accreditation for Prior Experiential Learning (APEL)

We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully.

The Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process could help you to make your work and life experience count. The APL process can be used for entry onto courses or to give you exemptions from parts of your course.

Two forms of APL may be used for entry: the Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning (APCL) or the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).

English Language Requirements

International applicants will be required to show a proficiency in English. An IELTS score of 6.5 (no element below 5.5) is proof of this.

Applicant profile

We are looking for students with a keen interest in sport and sports performance, matched with good academic skills and an application for science. Students may come from sporting, coaching and personal training backgrounds.

Typical Sports Science students are keen, hard working, and committed with good interpersonal and communication skills. Entry may be directly from school at 18 or after a period of gaining experience in the workplace.
