This course provides a great opportunity to become a leader within your profession. You will be able to undertake a more senior role in therapeutic interventions and CBT which is high on the government agenda (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies). This has emphasised the central role that psychological theories and applications have to play in the health care provision today.

Career Prospects

This course is particularly relevant for graduates wishing to strengthen their candidature for professional doctorates or if you are working in the NHS or independent sector (including addiction clinics) and want to develop your knowledge and understanding of psychological therapy. Increased Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) is a government initiative funding training for Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP). Graduates of this course may wish to seek training posts for low intensity PWPs.

Further Study

The course provides a sound basis for postgraduate research study at MPhil/PhD level.
