Assessment

The vocational nature of the course lends itself to coursework assessment. These typically include the design and production of animation or graphic products involving both technical and creative skills. More traditional computer programmes, technical reports and case studies are used for assessment of the underpinning modules.

Staff Profile

Jaime Pardo is an award-wining digital animator and director with over 14 years broadcast experience specialising in 3D character work. During this time he has undertaken a wide variety of projects including children’s television series, commercials, pop promos, natural history series and content graphics. In 2004 he won the BBC Talent New Animation award with his short film “The Parkie” which was made into a four part series in 2005 for the BBC. “The Parkie” aired on BBC Three and was screened at the Encounters Short Film Festival in November 2006. In June 2006 the short film, written and directed with Tia Perkins, “Ebenezer Morgan’s Photography Emporium“, was shown at The Annecy Animation Festival as part of their International Panorama and has also been screened at Rushes, Seoul, Stuggart and Cartoons on the Bay animation festivals and in 2008 won Best Animation and Best Film at the Propeller TV's Propellerfest. Jaime has also taught animation at Middlesex University and The Bristol School of Animation at the University of the West of England.
