MSc/PgDip/PgCert Advanced Practice (Neonatal)

  • You must have written support from a Consultant Paediatrician and Nurse Manager for the duration of the course.
  • All students must have total supernumerary status for the duration of the course.
  • Current employment in a neonatal unit and a minimum of two years experience within a unit routinely offering continuous long-term intensive care.
  • Relevant neonatal and intensive care qualifications (eg ENB 405 or equivalent)
  • An Honours degree or equivalent
  • Alternative qualifications and/or significant experience may be accepted, subject to approval through a process of Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL).

English Language Requirements

International applicants will be required to show a proficiency in English. An IELTS score of 6.0 (no element below 5.5) is proof of this.

The course is suitable for neonatal nurses and midwives who wish to be trained to undertake the role of an advanced neonatal nurse practitioner. The aim is to enhance knowledge and skills essential for advanced practice in neonatal care.
