The BSc (Hons) Mathematics undergraduate degree at the University of Salford started with a first intake in October 2010, and is a new and exciting degree with an emphasis on mathematics applied to business and industry. The degree has plenty of company involvement, featuring guest speakers, an optional placement year and supervised work projects.

Focus on Employment

We focus on preparing students for future employment by linking maths to real world problems across a range of sectors including business, computer science and engineering. Students also study modules on cutting edge themes like nanotechnology, economic stability and artificial intelligence.

A mix of experienced and young academic staff deliver a range of core and novel modules on the programme; their success was recognised by the award of HE STEM funding for particularly novel delivery.

Supportive Learning

We offer a supportive and focused learning environment with small class sizes, a dedicated centre for one-to-one maths help and specialised computing and experimental labs.
