Professor Nigel Linge, Professor of Telecommunications at the University of Salford, will deliver the Institute of Telecommunications Professionals’ annual Christmas Regional Events this year. Professor Linge is passionate about telecoms, and is sure to deliver an interesting, entertaining and thought-provoking presentation.

This year’s lecture will explore the fascinating world of the mobile phone which has recently celebrated its 40th birthday. See how the mobile has been transformed from a brick to a modern smart phone, learn how it all works, appreciate the engineering that makes it all possible and consider how it has become an essential part of our lives. Using a collection of handsets and interactive demonstrations, the lecture will bring the world of the mobile phone to life and with the latest incarnation of the mobile phone show the true potential of today’s 4G technology as provided by EE.
