Our three research centres:
Postgraduate Research
We attract students from all walks of life and this helps to create a vibrant and dynamic postgraduate research environment.
Research degrees offer you the flexibility to carry out your own research project under direct supervision of an academic member of staff. You can study towards a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
An MPhil is a shorter research training course than a PhD, and consists of expert supervision, research training, taught modules and independent study. A PhD is the highest degree awarded by the University and will equip you to make informed judgements on complex issues in specialist fields, as well as adopting an innovative approach to tackling and solving problems.
- Students have access to a wide range of supervisory expertise and excellent facilities
- We also have a strong international focus and attract students from countries such as Jordan, Russia and the United States as well as from within the UK
