Routine Newborn Infant Physical Examination

In response to current demand, leading neonatologist Professor Simon Mitchell designed this popular course for healthcare professionals undertaking newborn examinations. It is one of the few non-credit bearing courses available in the country.
Course focus:
- Identifying deviations from normal
- Detection of congenital abnormalities
- Recognition of infants with actual or potential clinical problems presenting in the neonatal period
This course is regularly updated in line with current evidence and practice and incorporating contemporaneous guidance from the Newborn & Infant Physical Examination programme (National Screening Committee).

Prescription Only Medicines for Podiatrists

This course has been redesigned as a cost effective non credit bearing option for qualified podiatrists. Delivered via distance learning with only three days at the University attendance, it's easy to fit training around existing commitments.
Course focus:
- General and Systemic pharmacology
- Adverse drug reactions and drug interactions
- Legal and ethical issues concerning access, supply and administration of medicines
- Consultation and decision making
- Life support including use of adrenaline and defibrillation
On completion of the course, delegates will be able to access, supply and administer the range of prescription and pharmacy only medicines on the approved list of medicines for HPC registered podiatrists.
