Health CPD frequently asked questions

Do I have to pay for short courses?

Several of our health care short courses can be funded through the Service Level Agreement (SLA), allowing individuals working in the relevant trusts to attend courses free of charge.

Speak to your CPD lead to see if you qualify.

Most courses cost only £160 for those not under the SLA.

Do I have time for short courses?

At the University of Salford we understand you have a busy schedule and that everyone has a different learning style. This is why we have developed various healthcare short course delivery modes:

  • Online courses (distance learning)
  • Weekend courses
  • 1 day or ½ day courses
  • Week block courses

How do I get to the University?

The University is easily accessible by car or public transport. See our Campus Map for more information and GMPTE to plan your journey using public transport.

Is parking available on site?

Each Campus has a car park which is available on a first come first serve basis. You will be required to purchase a £4.00 token from reception to exit the car park. Parking on Saturdays and Sundays is free of charge.

Can I get food and refreshments?

Each campus has a refectory and coffee bar which is open Monday – Friday. There are also various food outlets around the Campus such as Salford Shopping City which is situated approximately 10 minutes walk away.

Some courses will have refreshments included. See the course information for details.
