Real world research

Research

Research within the College of Arts & Social Sciences focuses on real-world issues underpinned by an interdisciplinary ethos, with key intellectual synergies between researchers developed within its Research Centres.

Each of our Schools hosts a wide range of research conferences, seminar series and other research events, details of which can be found on their research pages.

The School of Arts & Media is a dynamic and responsive research environment which brings together academics working in - and across - the arts, media, creative and cultural industries.  The work of its members is characterised by a cross-disciplinary curiosity and energy.

The School of Humanities, Languages & Social Sciences seeks to build, sustain and enhance research into social, cultural, literary and policy questions of major real world significance. It specialises in European history, politics, international relations, languages, literature, culture, translation and social and criminological research.
