Launch of the Salford Alumni Partnership for Enterprise

With such a wide range of research disciplines it is impossible for our Technology Transfer Team to know how develop projects in every area. We can only do it in partnership with professionals in the right fields, people who know the way their industry and business sectors work, and those with experience of how to introduce new products and ways of doing things into those sectors.

And so, we are establishing the Salford Alumni Partnership for Enterprise.  We are looking for alumni support in many different ways:

  • your knowledge - of marketplaces, technology and business,
  • your skills – to can help us create better propositions,
  • your time - work with us to develop our business cases,
  • and finally your money - when we get projects to the stage of looking for operational cash, we want to give our alumni the opportunity to contribute to this as well.

Online platform – your feedback, please

We are looking at developing an interactive web platform, which will offer a unique way for graduates of the University to get involved with the technology transfer process.

Prior to this tool going live in Autumn 2013, the University is looking for feedback on the concept and how we can best engage our alumni in this.

As with all our technology transfer projects, we need your input to make its development as effective as possible.  What would motivate you to participate? What form could your involvement take? What might you look for in return?

Focus group sessions will be run in June 2013 to decide and refine the best ideas – to request an invitation to this event, please send an email to b.m.prime@salford.ac.uk.
