Placing you at the heart of the international business world
Destination Analysis is a final year undergraduate elective module run in partnership with Universidad Jaume 1, Spain and Tampere University of Applied Science, Finland.
The programme was established in 2007 and has successfully run for the last 6 years, enabling over 300 students to participate. The module runs over a two week block on a rotational basis between the three institutions. The current delivery schedule is:
- 2013/14 – University of Salford, United Kingdom
- 2014/15 – Universidad Jaume 1, Spain
- 2015/16 – Tampere University of Applied Science, Finland
The focus of the module is International Tourism Enterprise Development, where students will assess the current tourism situation and analyse the potential for business developments for localised Small to Medium Enterprises (SME’s) within the host country.
The module is taught in English and is assessed via a presentation and a final report. Students work in international groups throughout the programme on challenges set by the SMEs, and produce business solutions for the respective companies.
Alongside the academic challenge, students have the opportunity to experience cross cultural learning in a real life environment to further the students’ international profile, generate a network of international contacts and enhance their employability skills within the global marketplace.
