Biography

Qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Smith and Williamson, acting as audit manager, reporting direct to partners on an assigned client base. Worked with the Maldives Monetary Authority on a Voluntary Services Overseas post, developing the central bank’s internal auditing requirements of the bank, and conducting training programs for the accounts and banking section staff. Moved into teaching accounting at City College Manchester before joining Salford University in 2001.

Examiner for the ICAEW (Financial Reporting paper) and marker team leader the ACCA Advanced Corporate Reporting paper (since 2002).
