Professional Profile

An enthusiastic, commercially orientated professional, dedicated to the concept of life-long learning and continuing academic and professional development in the global market place.

A strong and successful proponent of partnership through mutually beneficial engagement and resource leverage, by combining the strategic vision and operational resources of educational, professional and commercial organisations in the provision of high quality yet flexible blended learning.

A proactive individual with a strong and committed work ethic, accustomed to managing through strategically driven KPIs and ensuring resource maximisation and usage through partnerships and joint alliances.

A keen motivator, who leads by example, preferring a transparent and consistent, ethically robust management style; always seeking to encourage development amongst followers and colleagues, towards the optimisation of their own and their teams’ capabilities.

I have substantive experience as the manager and sponsor in undertaking effective large project management activities within a pressurised environment. 

A strong proponent of the benefits of creating globally responsible multi-functional teams, in the belief that diversity and equality can create a sustainable competitive edge and aid motivation.

A professional trainer and qualified lecturer in Accounting and Strategic Management, involved in creating dynamic products and services for CIMA Students and Members to support their study of the qualification and mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.

PhD Supervision

My current doctoral students are researching the following areas:

Strategic management accounting practices in SMEs in Malaysia, the impact of IFRS adoption and transparency and synchronicity in published accounts, the impact of quality CSR reporting in quoted companies, the impact of new organisational forms on accounting education.

I would be interested in supervising future doctoral students in the general areas of: levels and quality of investor disclosure in published accounts, strategic management accounting practices (adoption, implementation and outcomes), and the impact of outsourcing and shared services on the accounting function and accounting education.
