Biography

David Forrest trained in economics at the University of Western Ontario and held positions at McMaster, Liverpool and Manchester Universities prior to joining Salford. He is an applied econometrician with specific expertise in the spheres of gambling and of sport. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of International Gambling Studies and the Journal of Sports Economics. He is a member of the Experts Panel of Britain’s Responsible Gambling Strategy Board and advises the Gambling Commission. He is currently engaged in international initiatives to combat match fixing in sport. David Forrest is also Honorary Professor at Macau Polytechnic Institute. He is a highly experienced commentator in the British and international media and in regular demand for keynote addresses Worldwide.
