Biography

I developed my academic career after having worked for 20 years in several business sectors in both Italy and England. My experience includes the management of import-export organisations, customers and suppliers relations, and sales and marketing in tourism businesses.

I am now a senior lecturer in Salford Business School. My PhD, in the field of Consumer Behaviour, focused on the exploration and recognition of Compulsive Buying Behaviour with an International perspective. My areas of research interest are the psychology of consumption and cross cultural studies in consumer behaviour, tourism and marketing.

My academic role had included the responsibility for the international academic exchanges of students and staff, for over ten years, with other universities in Europe, USA, Australia and Canada. I have also undertaken international marketing in India for the University of Salford and I have been a visiting lecturer in China, Spain, Czech Republic, France, Italy and Finland.

PhD Supervision

I am currently supervising doctoral students on the following topics:

Consumer cynicism and cause-related marketing, Airlines services failure and recovery, Slow tourism consumption, Destination brand development, On-line acceptance consumption.

I would be interested in being involved in the supervision of doctoral projects in the following areas: in psychology of consumption, and cross cultural studies in consumer behaviour, tourism and marketing.
