How to use social media in the workplace whilst adhering to social media law

In the Legal Implications of Social Media section you will learn the legal implications of using social media in the workplace. An incontrovertible social media policy now plays a large role in many business handbooks. In recent years social media policy has been identified as a necessary requirement in order to protect employees and employers.

Activity 1  - Visit the creative commons licence website http://creativecommons.org/ and familiarise yourself with the different types of creative commons licences.

Activity 2  - Visit Intellectual Property rights slideshare material http://www.slideshare.net/MNEMOS/intellectual-property-management-learning-module familiarise yourself with the key concepts of copyright and intellectual property. Reflect on how these will impact the type of content you can share online and how you can attribute this to maintain the legal rights of the owners using a blog post. Share your blog post on the #SSMMUoS.

Activity 3  - Visit www.copyscape.com and paste the URL of your blog post and check if your content has been copied or whether you have any similarities with other web pages.
