Your Career Development
At Salford Business School our curriculum, links with the business world and support services are all geared toward maximising the employability of our graduates. Our academics are experts in their field and work closely with industry leaders to ensure that our courses reflect the needs of business and provide our students with that extra edge when it comes to securing a job.
Partnerships that improve graduate prospects
The School places a strong emphasis on the importance of professional work experience and all students benefit from the opportunity to apply their skills in the workplace, including:
- Full time, one year ‘sandwich’ placements
- Short term paid and unpaid placements
- Consultancy projects; allowing students to work with businesses and academics to provide real solutions
- International work placements; offering the opportunity to work abroad and develop an international perspective
All of our industrial and professional business links allow our students to take full advantage of our industry partnerships; providing opportunities to apply the skills learned during study and forge the contacts that will help develop future careers.
Companies that our students have been placed with include Barclays, BP, BUPA, General Electric, General Motors, GlaxoSmithKline, Hewlett Packard, IBM, ICI, Intel, Kellogg's, McDonalds, Network Rail, Nestlé, Sainsbury's, Selfridges, and the Co-operative Group.
Placements are an important opportunity for all students as they help them to apply the knowledge they have gained in the classroom. Most of our students who undertake a placement see quantifiable improvements in their academic results, and they are encouraged to continue their association with the placement organisation.
