I am a senior lecturer and come from an architectural background. Since March 2013 I have been the Director for the Design and Property management Directorate at SoBe.  I was educated in Brazil, at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), achieving my degree in Architecture and Urban Design, as well as a masters degree on Design Process Management.  I have previously held research and teaching posts at UFRGS, as well as within the Salford Centre for Research and Innovation (SCRI), and the Health and Care Infrastructure Research and Innovation Centre (HaCIRIC).  I have published widely and am the author of over 80 papers and reports, and one book.

Programme Leader MSc BIM and Integrated design

Research interests cover lean design and construction; and BIM (building information modeling/management).  I have worked and led a number of research projects examining the design process, focusing on the design of healthcare facilities, looking at the design front-end issues and value generation, participatory design approaches, the effects of design into health outcomes, wayfinding in hospitals, the links between lean construction and BIM, as well as BIM adoption in different architectural and construction firms. I am also involved in research around the implementation of the last planner system in design and construction, visual management, and the concept of waste in design.
