16 years working in industry within construction companies, a local authority, central government department (PSA), private practices both large and small, and self employed as an independent surveyor.

22 years in academia undertaking a variety of teaching duties and management roles.

All my teaching has been at undergraduate level in the following areas:

• Building Regulations

Graphical analysis of structures and their use in teaching structural concepts to non engineers.

Conservation of building fabric.

Conversion of historic buildings to new uses.
