Biography

I joined the university in 1990, after a career with Major Contractors and as a Project Planner with Manchester City Architects.

I was recruited to set up and run the industry sponsored BSc Construction Management programme, acting as programme leader and final year project work manager, where I gained vast experience in designing and procuring industry focussed project work as well as managing a consortium of 15 industry sponsors.

I have a lecturing background in a wide range of CM related topics, specialising in production planning and control, process improvement and project protocols.

I also have over 20 years experience of outdoor management development training with both John Ridgway Adventure School and Raasay Outdoor Centre, having taken parties of CM students every year since 1990.

More recently, I undertook a senior management role in the school, as Head of Construction Directorate, before stepping down this year to concentrate on PhD studies.
