Sustainable Urban and Regional Futures
Simon Marvin is a Visiting Professor at SURF, working closely with the core team on the EPSRC Urban Retrofit and Mistra - Urban Futures programmes. In January 2012 Simon took up a post as Carillion Chair of Low Carbon Cities and Communities at the Durham Energy Institute, University of Durham.
Prior to this, Simon was Professor and Co-Director of SURF for 12 years, moving to Salford University in July 1999 to take up the United Utilities Chair in Sustainable Urban and Regional Development. During this period Simon led a highly successful programme of work around cities, critical infrastructure and urban responses to climate change and continues to be a highly valued partner to the SURF team.
