Professor Andrew Platten

Andrew Platten is Project Manager with Elevate East Lancashire.  Elevate East Lancashire are one of the nine Housing Market Renewal Pathfinders in England. Dr Platten leads Elevate's Constructing the Future (CtF) project, which focuses upon the development of skills and knowledge for successful regeneration.

Dr Platten studied at UMIST and gained the titles of BSc(Hons) in Building Technology and  PhD on the subject of mass transfer in porous building materials.  He is formerly Head of Department of Built Environment at the University of Central Lancashire.

Dr Platten is currently the chair of the Chartered Institute of Building Accreditation Panel.  He is a trustee of the American Council of Construction Education, advisor to the National Board of Construction Management Education in China and the Hong Kong College of Technology.  He has written at total of 35 academic papers.  Andrew is also a member of the scientific editorial committee for the International Journal of Construction Management.
