Oliver Novakovic BSc MSc AMIM – Director of Building Futures Group

Oliver NovakovicA material engineer who has worked at BRE since 2004, Oliver was brought in to develop BRE's housing business which he did taking a 3 person team to a 40 person team. He was then asked to take on the Building Futures team - a 70 strong team that works with corporates, developers, builders, suppliers, central and local government and third sector funders.

Oliver spent his initial years in developing a patented panel system for Westbury Homes and then helped build a £20 million facility that produces 1 house per hour. Oliver then worked in consultancy enabling the introduction of new products into the construction sector. This required an in depth understanding of market needs, technical requirements and cost models for entry.

Since joining BRE, Oliver has advised private and public organisations on the integration of innovation to deliver sustainable buildings and the development of business models to ensure the environmental, social, and financial sustainability of businesses. This has included working with government organisations such as the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), and private organisations such as Barratts, Crest Nicholson and Bovis Lend Lease. The Building Futures Team's services include: sustainable strategy and policy, master planning, sustainable development, low carbon design, product development and process and resource efficiency with clients that include H&M, Audi, Saint Go Ian, Dow, Waitrose, Tesco, British Gas, SSE, BASF, Wates, Gentoo HA and other many SMEs.
