Professor Rick CobleProf Coble's work life extends into both Academic and Construction Engineering Management. He owns SHILOH Consulting, with offices in Orlando, Miami Gainesville, Phoenix and a new office set to open in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His work in most cases ties to Litigation Support, Visualization Implementation, and Risk Management. Dr. Coble is a Research Professor at Florida International University, where SHILOH also sponsors the SHILOH Lecture Series on Construction Risk Management. This is where Professor Coble brings in a scholar or industry professionals to speak and write a paper on construction risk management.

Prof Coble's background in Construction includes 15% ownership of the Palmer Smith Construction company, wherein they built four of the pavilions at Disney's EPCOT, and all of the walking surfaces therein. He was also a Project Manager for Disney in Florida for four years in the early 70's. He owned Tyco Constructors and Kaco Contracting from 1975-present, wherein they did all Circus World's construction work for 6 years. They also did Surety completion work for the Kemper and the Hartford throughout the southern part of the USA. Professor Coble was an Associate Professor at the University of Florida from 1992 until March 15 of 2002, after which he signed a consulting agreement with UF until December 31, 2002. Currently he is working in the research area of 3D CAD as it relates to safety. He is also doing research in the area of robotics in construction documentation. He is a permanent Visiting Professor at Salford and an Adjunct at the University of Miami. As a consultant, he is primarily focused on productivity, with some safety consulting. Clients have included the US Government, Disney, Universal Studios, Duke Energy, the Hartford Insurance Group, Travellers Insurance, The Kemper, and other similar companies.

Prof Coble has the AIC designation with the American Institute of Constructors and holds their highest qualification status of Certified Professional Constructor (CPC). He is an active member of ASCE and has been an active member for 37 years. He often makes professional presentations and has authored over 100 scholarly publications. In his spare time he is a state of Florida, Department of Juvenile Justice, Certified Volunteer Juvenile Parole Officer.
