Research Degrees
The School of the Built Environment offers a comprehensive range of research programmes which give researchers worldwide, the opportunity to realise their ambition and to achieve higher qualifications via research. At the forefront of built environment research, the School of the Built Environment is recognised for its friendly and professional environment. Each of our postgraduate students is assigned a supervisor from Salford, who is active in the area of research, and a personal tutor who will offer support and guidance when needed. Our programmes are further enriched by comprehensive in-house training support, which addresses researchers' needs during all stages of their research. We also provide English language support to international students.
In the 2008 UK Government Research Assessment Exercise, 25% of our research submission was judged as world leading and 65% of international excellence standard. We submitted more researchers for assessment than any other university, placing us as the UK's top school for research power.
We offer outstanding research opportunities, both over the Internet and by attendance (part-time or full-time) supported by dedicated training and support. Information on available bursaries and scholarships can be found on each individual programme page.
