World Congress on Active Ageing
SURFACE has participated in the 8th World Congress on Active Ageing, which this year took place at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (Glasgow) and was attended by 900 delegates, including over 300 people aged 65+.
Speaking about 'engaging environments for active ageing', Professor Marcus Ormerod gave an invited lecture at the event and chaired a session on the Impact of the Built and Natural Environment.
Together with research partner and campaigning organisation, Living Streets, the team conducted a practical outdoors walk-shop on supportive environments for older people and exhibited in the Information Village. The week-long congress also included a symposium on SURFACE-led research project, Go Far, chaired by Professor James Goodwin of Age UK.
