Age UK hosts Go Far practitioner event
The Go Far research team, led by SURFACE, has held a one-day workshop for NHS and private practitioners engaged in falls services, including prevention and rehabilitation.
Hosted by Age UK at the charity’s national headquarters in London, the event was part of research-into-practice series organised by the knowledge transfer consortium, KT-EQUAL.
Topics under discussion included the role of the outdoor environment in shaping inequalities in health, older people's experiences of falling outdoors and the tools and techniques currently being explored by Go Far to evaluate the relationship between at-risk people and the outdoor environment. Practical sessions focused on refining research instruments, pathways to impact and recruitment for future research strands.
