Awards for outstanding teachers and graduates announced

There’s been plenty to celebrate for the School of the Built Environment this week at graduation, with a round of awards for outstanding teaching staff, departments and alumni who have made a real difference.

The VC's Distinguished Teaching Awards 2013

Paul Tracey
Paul joined the University three and a half years ago after 25 years in the construction industry as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. Since joining us he has won numerous awards and was short-listed for the Times Higher Education Award 2012 in the category of “Most Innovative Teacher” for introducing a number of innovative teaching and learning interventions into the classroom.

Chancellor’s Alumni Achievement Awards

Marcus Chun-fai Chow, BSc Quantity Surveying, 2001; MSc Information Technology Management in Construction, 2004
Created the MCconception design company which provides design services to international enterprises and non-governmental organisations.

Professor Chrisna DuPlessis, PhD, 2009
Academic and industrial researcher who has represented the needs of developing countries at the UN.

Trevor Mole, BSc Building, 1978
Founder and MD of Property Tectonics, Chartered Building Surveyors.
