  • Europe Jazz Network research report published with foreword from Professor Tony Whyton.
  • Joe Duddell has been elected to be an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music.  Awards are made to 'past students who have distinguished themselves in the music profession and made a significant contribution to it in their particular field.'
  • ERASMUS/Rhythm Changes ARENA project is under way at the Maijazz Festival in Stavanger. The performance project involves collaboration between staff and students at the University of Stavanger, Amsterdam Conservatory and University of Salford.
  • Dr Nicola Spelman’s Popular Music and the Myths of Madness has been published by Ashgate.
  • Professor Tony Whyton chairs a panel on 'The Future of Musicianship' at the Westminster Hub in London.
  • Listening Cities research comes to Salford as part of Sonic Fusions Festival
