How does the dual award with semester study at Salford work?

The Salford programmes are based on TAR UC’s own curricula with input from University of Salford. The University of Salford has ensured that the TAR UC curricula for these dual award programmes is aligned with the relevant UK standards and benchmarking criteria deriving from the UK Quality Assurance Agency as well as Salford’s own admissions criteria and University regulations. This is why there are some differences between the programmes in terms of, for example, how you are assessed. The Universities are working to develop collaborative learning opportunities for dual award students. These differences will be explained to you and you will receive a detailed programme handbook containing all the information you will need.

The optional Semester Study at Salford, which takes place in semester two or three of your final year, allows you to study close to Manchester and benefit from the experience of study abroad at the University of Salford by broadening your academic development and life experience. The fee covers the cost of tuition, with accommodation in standard student facilities at the University payable separately. There is an additional opportunity to join cultural visits and trips to some of the UK’s most famous landmarks and attractions via the International Student Society (at a reasonable additional cost). During your semester at Salford you study modules that have been mapped to the TAR curriculum and meet MQA requirements. This means that all credits earned there are transferred back to TAR UC for your final degree and transcript.
