Chris is the Technical Manager responsible for the overall management, staffing and running of the Recording Studios, TV Acting Studio, Radio Studio, Edit Suites and Mac suites.

Ade Castronovo

Ade Castronovo

Ade is a Recording Technician, responsible for managing the School of Arts & Media’s recording studio facilities including all academic and student studio provision. He is also responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all studio equipment and configuration of specialist audio software. Ade graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2010, where he studied Music Technology and worked as a Recording Studio Engineer for a large commercial studio whilst also acting as Live Sound Engineer at various music venues. Alongside his work at the University of Salford, Ade also carries out Technical Production and Stage Management work for Festival Republic, delivering live music events across the UK and abroad.

Sam Lench

Sam is a Recording Studio Supervisor, helping music students with their recording projects in the studios by lending them appropriate microphones and other studio equipment. Sam is also on hand to assist with any technical questions or problems in the studios. He is constantly working to make the studios and improved facility for our students by repairing broken equipment, troubleshooting problems and trying to utilise our resources to make the studios streamlined and efficient. Projects on top of the day-to-day running of the studios currently include cleaning, repairing, part sourcing and reinstating a portable professional tape machine and several effects units to the studios; plus the planning and purchasing of materials to better soundproof our most recent facility, Studio 5.

Recording Studio Supervisors
