Performance

The University of Salford’s Performance Directorate has a long and proven history of study and training in performing arts, with many notable graduates.

Running through the core of our Performance programmes is an exploration of the relationship between the live and the recorded. Our students produce work for the stage, camera and radio, experimenting with a combination of all these.

We have recently refreshed and repackaged our undergraduate courses into an exciting shape for the 21st century.

Five of our programme routes are now pathways of one great degree title. For the first time our undergraduates can take options from across the School, providing collaborative opportunities to help development towards becoming adaptable and versatile graduates.

For postgraduates there is the MA in Scriptwriting and an exciting new MA in Digital Performance undertaken at the impressive MediaCityUK at Salford Quays.

The Performance Directorate is staffed by experienced industry practitioners and performance researchers, many of whom are constantly engaged with professional projects, resulting in our vibrant and international interface with industry. This is enhanced by our relationship with all the key venues around Manchester and, of course, our involvement with MediaCityUK.

Whether you are a budding comedian, filmmaker, actor, writer, circus performer, radio presenter, performance artist or dancer, the Performance Directorate may have exactly what you're looking for.
