Patrick’s postgraduate research focused on the user experiences of young children progressing from home into early school years. He developed a learning support system to aide preparation for first years at school, which included the interface design of a digital ‘personal learning mentor’. Patrick’s studies explored how real-time profiling captures the child’s activity and monitors or prompts their patterns and levels of development.
