Events and Exhibitions

At the School of Arts and Media, we hold festivals, events and student exhibitions throughout the year.
By getting involved, your organisation can build its brand presence in the North West, support the next generation of creative talent and connect with our most-promising final-year students before they graduate.

The two major industry-focused events in our calendar are the Create Salford festival (including Graduate Degree Shows) and the Salford International Media Festival, both of which take place at MediaCityUK:

•    Create Salford features an art-and-design degree show, a fashion show and our journalism awards, as well as innovative theatrical and musical performances created by our students with the help of our industry partners.

•    Salford International Media Festival stages an academic conference 'Challenging Media Landscapes', the 21st Nations & Regions Media Conference, and an exciting programme of activities designed to inspire and support next-generation talent.

You can also engage with our students at a range of other performances, gigs and exhibitions all year round. Art and design students have had much of their work displayed at numerous prestigious gallery spaces in the city, music students regularly play gigs in the many popular venues around Salford and Manchester and our performance students can often be seen on the stages of various theatres, arts spaces and comedy clubs across the city.

Whether by sponsoring events, working with us on special commissions, visiting our shows or coming along to see the work being produced, there’s always an opportunity to meet our students.
